The rain and electrical storms on Thursday night has brought great disappointment this year to many of the brotherhoods who have planned and prepared for months to take their virgins out in procession through the streets.
In Málaga this Holy Week is being described as the worst ever, as far as the brotherhoods are concerned. Upto and including Thursday night only 12 of the 31 brotherhoods had been able to take to the streets.
One of the most popular Easter events in Málaga, the arrival of the legion and the transfer of the Cristo de la Buena Muerte, did take place as planned on Thursday afternoon, and the legion brotherhood Mena, challenged the rain later on the streets, although at a faster pace than normal .
